The Little Red Book has finely crafted, decorative, hardbound, Smyth sewn covers sporting a faux "Old Red Leather" look complete with delicate, curled, gold leaf front and back cover borders and a gold detailed spine. The covers have rounded corners to ensure the journal can be tucked away easily inside pockets and bags. The covers are not made of real leather (no cow was sacrificed here) which is why it is faux Old Leather. But the effect is most impressive and costs only a small fraction of what a real leather book would cost. The inside lined and laid paper is superiorly engineered, and suited for all writing instruments such as: ballpoint pens, rollerball pens, gel pens, marker pens, technical pens, fountain pens, and pencils; writing in this journal is exceptionally smooth. Bleed through is not a problem as the laid paper is 4 mil thick!

A full sized gusseted pocket, in the back of the journal, is ideal for storing odds-and-ends, money, expense receipts, train tickets, a small pack of gum, family photos, or tickets to a Spaghetti Western Festival(?)–so very handy!
